  • Hello Mr. Ellis,

I attended one of your talks in San Diego on the 25 July. Foundation Research shared the facilities with you.

We were going to sign on with them, however, in performing our due diligence we found they have no successful clients that have received funding.

It seems to me you had mentioned that they had some successes. As this is not the case, can you recommend any other firms that may be in the same line of work as Foundation Research?

  • I attended one of these talks in Portland, OR. After doing some research it became clear that there are no grants available to just any “small business”. You must be a non-profit or be the type of foundation that would normally recieve grants. Before you sign on with this program be sure to do you due diligence. You might read through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act yourself, http://www.recovery.com. No mention of grants to small business, loans, but no grants. Maybe they left this little detail out un-intentionally?

I attended your seminar in Dallas. I read the comments above and would like your comment on those comments. Thank you.

Actually if you take the time to look at the site you will see that many small business that were profit have been approved for grants and jobs have been created as a result. You can go to the map which will link you to trackthemoney.gov and it will show who has received grants, loans and government contracts per state. Also on grants.gov you can see all of the grants available to everyone.

  • For Mr. Jay Ellis – ATTENTION
I attended the Saturday seminar in Salt Lake City at the Marriot. During the presentation, you mentioned that the FOUNDATION RESEARCH (FR) was one of the options for us to apply for the STIMULUS money that would soon be announced nationwide.
I understood that to work with FOUNDATION RESEARCH required a $3K deposit that would be refunded, if the STIMULUS money was not received for my business. However, when I contacted FR, I was told that the deposit was NOT REFUNDABLE. I would appreciate hearing back from you on this miscommunication.

    Mr. Ellis,
We also attended a seminar in October 2009 in which you were guest speaker, hosted by a company called ‘Foundation Research, Inc’ and have been ripped off. We had to contact the corporation seeking information on our supposed grants. There were no letters or other requests on our behalf written. We supplied enough information to the Foundation for them to basically steal our company’s identity. Anyone reading these comments – do not spend any money

    please research:
    Small Business Funding Company
    Small Business Funding Services
    The Grant People
and other phony corporations that will appear during your search as they are all related to Foundation Research Inc through a Mark Bausch

Jay Ellis is acutally Jonas E Bowen, a convicted felon, never a federal agent or a Marine, but a professional con-artist.

    SCAM-SEE SEATTLE TIMES article:

Scam artists working area, claiming they’ll write grants for small businesses
A phony grant-writing scheme targeting small businesses has turned up in the Bellevue-Seattle area, according to Bellevue police.

    By Seattle Times staff

A phony grant-writing scheme targeting small businesses has turned up in the Bellevue-Seattle area, according to Bellevue police.

The scammers, believed to be from Las Vegas, used the name Foundation Research Inc. and asked for a “nonrefundable” deposit of $3,000. They promised to use the money to research and apply for federal grants for small-business owners. Once they have the deposit, the corporation shuts down and the money is never seen again, according to police.

At least 10 other corporate names have been used by the scammers, including: Small Business Funding Company, Small Business Funding Services, The Grant People, The Grant Place, The Corporate People and Grant Resources, police said.

Recently, Foundation Research advertised a seminar at the Bellevue Marriott, spotlighting a “speaker” claiming to be a national radio personality: “Jay Ellis — The Money Man.”

Bellevue Police detectives discovered that “Ellis” was actually a felon and professional con artist. When detectives contacted the man, he agreed to cancel the seminar.

Police said the scammers will likely continue to solicit money by telephone and e-mail.

If you think you have been a victim of this type of scam, the Bellevue Police Department fraud unit asks you to call them at 425-577-5656.

  • Would have been nice if Maxon had done some research. Here’s the latest…

complete scam artists under several names, and Jay Ellis is a con man.

  • These creeps were just in Nashville Tennessee trying the same bunko game. This bozo Jay Ellis had himself dubbed into pictures with prominent celebrities.

So, I just got the call today from the same folks. Sounded good and I googled them……found all these comments…..wow! I own a restaurant and the guy gave a really compelling schpeel. I just went to Business license lookup in Clark County for

    Foundation Research, Inc.
    Suite 230
    2785 E Desert Inn Rd
    Las Vegas, NV 89121

Looks like their license was activated 3/31/10…..yesterday…haha!

Anyone can write a blog. Anyone can believe either what you write or what they want to believe. Has anyone checked out to see if the blogs or the police or even the newspaper reporter is correct. No one really knows however there is the main facts:
The ARRA is fact and it has created jobs. Small businesses have expanded and created jobs. Furthermore, Grants.gov has grants available only you need to apply yourself for the work and finally anyone can do the work and get funded with the right circumstances. No one can get hurt except the person or persons being written about without thorough research. And you should check their license from 10-08 and the BBB and the Chamber of Commerce. So shame on all you idoits. Maria Maria

  • Maria Ustedes

Why would you call anyone a name. Maybe you are a creep! You just can’t apply yourself so you call people trying to help others names? Whatever.

  • Henry Forsale

I went under the ARRA and found many interesting items. You can get grants but the know how is what everyone lacks. If they help people then they should be compensated for their knowledge. Americans today jump to conclusions without doing their homework. March On

  • I am really glad I found these comments. Just got off the phone with Foundation Research inc. They are slick. Glad I didn’t part with any of our non-profit’s cash.
